The hugely successful Sit for Calpe House GA Campaign was the initiative of Charlene Figueras who delivered the project with the Gibraltar Youth Service. The well known chair, sponsored by EY Gibraltar, became the ‘Throne of Calpe House GA’ and people were asked to donate money to have their photo taken sitting in it, props and personalised messages were encouraged to show the sitters personality. 436 people ‘sat’ for the project, from which 50 portraits were chosen at random out of a hat to display at a Photographic Portrait Exhibition held in October 2019 at the GEMA Gallery. The Throne then went on tour and further funds were raised when local businesses took it into their premises for further photos with their employees. The Throne is now proudly sitting in the reception room at Calpe House GA.
